How we got started: Automated Fire and Water Effects, Inc. (AFWE) started after a mechanical engineer was enticed into designing fire effects for a contractor on Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.  The contractor figured that the engineer had designed the gas system, how hard could the fire effects be?  After 6 months of study and a lot of trial and error, the fire effects for Mandalay Bay were lit.  They had passed testing by third party listing agents, the Fire Department and the Building Department Attraction Services.  Were the results worth it?  Come to Las Vegas and judge for yourself.  We sure think so.   If you can't make it to Las Vegas, click on the Projects link to see the results.

After Mandalay Bay, other designers and architects kept asking for the same services for their projects. The engineer started AFWE and kept adding to the knowledge base and designing more efficient systems.  Once the designers saw their designs could be engineered, they asked where the owner could buy these items.  Answer: nowhere.  This led to the manufacturing of fire effects, burners, ignition systems and control cabinets.  Now, there is a place where the wildest fire designs can be produced.

What we can do: Engineer and manufacture architectural fire effects for permanent installation into a building indoors or out.  We build tiki torches, fire effects and water/fire features.  We will prepare construction documents, fire department submittals and shop drawings.

What we don't do:  We don't engineer or manufacture fireworks, pyrotechnics or stage effects.  There are many fine production companies in the world that specialize in these effects.
